The Disabilities Trust is a leading national charity, providing innovative care, rehabilitation and support solutions for people with profound physical impairments, acquired brain injury and learning disabilities as well as children and adults with autism. People are at the heart of everything we do and our services across the country include purpose-built residential accommodation, community-based housing, respite care, special education and community enabling services to maximise each individual’s independence. Working in partnership with those we support, their families and friends, local authorities, health authorities, housing associations and other organisations, we have an established track record of delivering leading-edge services that meet the needs of people with complex and challenging disabilities. We are continually looking to refine our existing services and develop new ones in response to identified individual needs.
Upon the announcement of Barrie Oldham’s retirement, we are now seeking to appoint his successor as Chief Executive. Building upon the strong success and recent rapid growth of The Disabilities Trust, the incoming Chief Executive will provide inspirational and entrepreneurial leadership to the delivery and development of the organisation’s services and its continuing evolution as a dynamic, unique and innovative provider of complex care support.
Candidates for the post will bring a demonstrable track record of senior management and of delivering change in a complex environment, along with the requisite resilience, business acumen and innovative approach to harness opportunities for further success and impact. Not only knowledge of the health and social care sector, but also passion for the mission and values of The Disabilities Trust will be integral to success and fulfilment in the role.
