HMC (The Headmasters’ and Headmistresses' Conference) represents the Heads of many of the world's leading independent schools. With 261 members in the UK and Ireland and a further 61 international members, HMC is a prominent and influential voice in education.
Reflecting the growing collective ambition of its members, HMC is now seeking to appoint to the new post of Director of External Relations. Reporting to the General Secretary, this individual will work across the broad membership to develop a proactive external relations strategy positioning HMC at the heart of the evolving national and international education debate.
The successful candidate will combine significant media and PR experience with the intellect, gravitas and strategic abilities to command respect and influence effectively across a diverse membership. Whilst experience of education is not a pre-requisite, a deep interest in the sector and a genuine commitment to the aims and values of HMC is essential. Experience of a membership based organisation would also be advantageous.
