Patrick Brazier joins CfBT as International Director 17 Jul 2013

Patrick Brazier has been appointed international director at CfBT Education Trust; responsible for all of the charity’s international operations across the geographical regions of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa.

Patrick, currently the British Council’s regional director for MENA in Dubai, will be based in CfBT’s UK headquarters in Reading as part of the leadership team.

Starting in early September, Patrick will be responsible for the strategic growth and development of CfBT’s international operations ensuring the business continues to deliver high-quality, innovative educational solutions to the charity’s clients worldwide.

Steve Munby, chief executive of CfBT Education trust, said: 'I am delighted to welcome Patrick to CfBT, his considerable international experience and expertise will be an incredible asset to our international operations and a real advantage to our future operations.

A scientist, Patrick has worked for the British Council in various roles, based internationally including Uganda, Syria, Swaziland and Dubai, for more than 20 years most recently as part of the management board, the British Council’s decision-making body.

Patrick added: 'I am looking forward to joining CfBT and using my international experience to help consolidate and grow the charity’s position as one of the foremost education providers worldwide.'

Prior to joining the British Council Patrick worked for the Royal Society and the World Bank on science and research projects.
