We are very pleased to welcome Helen Semple to the role of Acting Deputy Head, a one year post in which she will be responsible for the day to day management of the school and will deputise for the Headmaster, Mr Blond, when necessary.
Helen is presently Assistant Head and Director of Sixth Form at Ashford School, Kent. Having gained a degree in Religious Studies from the University of Edinburgh, Helen led the Religious Studies department in two boarding schools, Clifton College and Ashford school. She brings to Roedean an excellent understanding of boarding life, together with energy and commitment to high standards.
‘I'm delighted to be joining a school with such a remarkable history and which has developed a progressive ethos centred around excellence, individuality and encouragement’, said Helen on her appointment. ‘It's an exciting time to be joining Roedean, and it will be a privilege getting to know, and working with, all the staff, students and parents who together continue to make this school the fantastic place it is.’
