General Sir John Monash Foundation welcome new Chief Executive 8 Oct 2014

The John Monash Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Renata Bernarde as its new CEO effective 1st January 2015.

Renata will commence as CEO designate on 27th October and conduct a handover from current CEO, Dr Peter Binks, through November and December.

Renata is an accomplished business leader who most recently has been National Manager, Member and Corporate Engagement at the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA). She has experience as a relationship manager at the – Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, and has held roles in student development and academic governance at Monash University.  She will be based in Melbourne.

Peter Binks leaves the Foundation after 5 years as CEO. The Board of the Foundation thanks him for hisoutstanding contribution to the growth of the Scholarships and the Foundation and wishes him well in his future endeavours.

In welcoming Renata, Peter said: “These last five years have been very exciting, as we have had the privilege of sponsoring and mentoring many of Australia’s future leaders. Renata’s experience and skills will support the growth and development of the Foundation to consolidate its position as Australia’s leading post graduate scholarship and leadership organisation. I wish her and the Board well, and will continue to be a strong advocate for the Scholarships and the Foundation.”

Ms Jillian Segal AM, Chairman of the Foundation, welcomed Renata, and said “That the Board and scholars looked forward to working with her on the next exciting phase of growth.  2015 will be a particularly exciting year for the Foundation, with the Sesquicentenary of Sir John Monash’s birth, and the selection of our 100th Scholar.”
