Dr Michael Glover appointed as Academic Secretary at the University of Cambridge 10 Jan 2020

Dr Glover will join the University of Cambridge in April 2020 from his role as Director of Planning and the Council Secretariat at Oxford University.

Prior to his role at Oxford he was at the University of Warwick, including as Academic Registrar (2010 -2017) and School Secretary of the Medical School (2002-2010). He has also worked at the University of Newcastle and is a qualified accountant.

The Academic Secretary is head of the University's Academic Division and secretary to the General Board. Together with the Registrary, the roleholder is one of two administrative officers with broad responsibility for the University's activities. The Academic Secretary supports the Vice-Chancellor, the Registrary, the Pro-Vice-Chancellors and the Heads of School in the development and implementation of the University's academic strategy, and also has a key role in ensuring consistency of processes and information across the University.

On his appointment, Dr Glover said: "I am delighted to be joining the team in the Academic Division at Cambridge. I look forward to working with academic and professional services colleagues across the collegiate University to support the University's mission of education and research."
