David Levin, the Headmaster of City of London School has been appointed Managing Director of United Learning’s independent schools. David will succeed Charlotte Rendle-Short who retires in December 2013.
He has been Headmaster of City of London School since 1999 and was previously Headmaster of the Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe. He was Chairman of HMC from 2010 to 2011.
Announcing his appointment, Jon Coles, Group Chief Executive said:

He has been a leading advocate for the benefits of links between the state and independent sectors, where United Learning is leading the way nationally.”
David Levin said:

I look forward to working on the continuing enhancement of the Group’s independent schools’ strengths and their joint working with the Group’s academies.”
In March, the United Learning Alliance led by Guildford High School, which comprises independent schools and academies from within the Group, was awarded National Teaching School status.
