Concern Universal Introduces New Chief Executive 25 Feb 2014

The start of 2014 marked an exciting change for Concern Universal with the appointment of a new Chief Executive. Kathryn Llewellyn takes over from Ian Williams, who steps down after 24 years with the organisation.

On Saturday 22nd February, Ian Williams handed over to his successor.

“It is with great pleasure that I can announce Kathryn Llewellyn has been appointed the new Chief Executive of Concern Universal. I wish Kathryn and all of team every success for the future!”

Kathryn has won a number of awards including: The Sheila McKechnie conflict resolution award for her campaigning work on democracy in Zimbabwe and an UNTLD award for social entrepreneurs. Kathryn is also an advisor to Channel Four’s Battlefront show, mentoring young campaigners.

Kathryn says:

“I am incredibly excited to take up the leadership of Concern Universal; the organisation’s ability to give a voice and open up opportunities to those most unheard and undervalued is inspirational. I am delighted to become part of this team, with such enormous integrity and talent. My aim is to bring a passion, enthusiasm and innovation to Concern Universal and to ensure together we make an even bigger change in the world.”

The whole team here at Concern Universal wishes Ian Williams all the best for the future and cannot thank him enough for his incredible impact on this organisation over the last 24 years.

We are really looking forward to working with Kathryn and achieving great success together.
