The School Council Chairman Mr Daniel O’Connor announced the appointment of Dr Alan Campbell, the School’s current Deputy Headmaster, as the School’s eighth Headmaster, commencing 1 January 2014.
In announcing the appointment, Mr O’Connor said as Deputy Headmaster of Churchie, Dr Campbell had demonstrated a keen understanding of every aspect of the School’s governance.
“Dr Campbell’s personal commitment to continuing professional development and his strong academic and intellectual credentials will be sure to command the respect of the boys, staff, parents and the wider Churchie community,” he stated.
Dr Campbell was appointed as Deputy Headmaster of Churchie in 2005.
He holds a Diploma of Teaching from the Queensland University of Technology, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland, a Master of Educational Administration and a Doctor of Education both from the University of New England.
In 2010 Dr Campbell undertook an educational leadership course at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Mr O’Connor said the School Council was confident that Dr Campbell would usher in a new and exciting era for Churchie, one which would see Churchie, its boys and staff realise their full potential.
In welcoming the eighth Headmaster, Mr O’Connor once again acknowledged the dedicated service rendered by Mr Jonathan Hensman, the School’s seventh Headmaster.
