In January, CBS will start searching for a new Dean of Education as Gregor Halff has accepted the position of new Dean of Social Sciences at VU (Vrije Universiteit) in Amsterdam while holding a full professorship in corporate communication.
Croft's appointment follows an international search conducted in accordance with the appointment policy. In the course of the search, a strong field of candidates was considered. The search committee's unanimous recommendation was taken forward to the faculty for a ratification ballot and of the eligible faculty members who voted, 90.6% voted in support. Her appointment was approved by the Board of Governors on December 9, 2021.

A renowned medic and university leader is to become the 17th President of Imperial College London. Professor Hugh Brady, currently Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Bristol, has been confirmed as President-designate by Imperial’s Council. Professor Brady will take up the role on 1 August 2022, after Professor Alice Gast’s term as President concludes.

Birmingham City University has announced that experienced architect and educator Dr Matthew Jones has been appointed as its new Head of School for Architecture and Design.
The University has appointed Kay Jones as the first Director of University Operations and Strategic Planning. Kay will report to Chief Operating Officer, Tim Westlake and will also have a reporting line to the new Provost, Rachel Mills. The role of Director of Planning and Performance was previously held by David Cole, but we have broadened the remit to align with our strategic aims.
