New Director appointed at Deakin University's Institute for Frontier Materials
Biomedical engineering researcher Professor Sally McArthur (pictured) has been named the new Director of Deakin University’s Institute for Frontier Materials. McArthur heads the materials science and engineering centre at Deakin’s Waurn Ponds campus with over 200 staff, and a focus on the themes of “Re-designing materials for a circular economy” and “Imparting materials with extraordinary functionality”. Its work runs across the energy, mining, environment, health, transport, textiles and manufacturing sectors.
Anita Bhalla OBE has been named as the next Chair of Birmingham City University’s Board of Governors.
Anita will take up her position as Deputy Chair on the Board from October this year, before taking over as Chair when current incumbent Mark Hopton’s term of office finishes in May 2023.

Richard Harrison new Managing Director Plant Sciences Group
The Executive Board of Wageningen University & Research (WUR) has appointed Richard Harrison as the Managing Director of the Plant Sciences Group (PSG) as of 1 September 2022. He succeeds Ernst van den Ende who is now Managing Director of the Animal Sciences Group. Harrison is currently Director of NIAB Cambridge Crop Research.

Lyndall Stein has been appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees of CARE International UK. She will take up her post from 1 August 2022.
Dr. Fredrick Echols Selected as the New CEO of Cure Violence Global™
The Board of Directors of Cure Violence Global™ is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Fredrick Echols as its new Chief Executive Officer. After an extensive search, Dr. Echols was selected to lead CVG as it scales its operations in the U.S. and globally. He will assume his role as CEO effective May 23, 2022.
