Ken Gavin new Professor of Subsurface Engineering, TU Delft 30 Apr 2016

Professor Ken Gavin will join the Geo-Engineering section of the Geoscience & Engineering department as Professor of Subsurface Engineering on April 1st 2016. His Chair in Subsurface Engineering is supported by Deltares and Rijkswaterstaat.

 

Ken comes from University College Dublin where he leads a research team investigating offshore foundation systems and climate change impacts on transport infrastructure. He works closely with the offshore industry to develop design codes, most recently as a member of the PISA project that aims to develop a new design standard for offshore foundations.

Ken has significant experience of the EU Framework and Horizon 2020 funding schemes having coordinated a number research projects in the transport infrastructure domain. He is very interested in developing cross-disciplinary research at TU-Delft.
