University of Leeds seeks to appoint new Chair of Council and Pro-Chancellor

4 May 2012

The University of Leeds is one of the UK’s largest and foremost universities. Ranked amongst the world’s top 100 universities in the QS World rankings, the University has an annual turnover of £540 million, over 33,000 students and about 7,000 staff. The University has developed a distinctive ability to integrate world-class research, scholarship and education through which it is seeking to secure a place amongst the top 50 universities in the world.

Sound judgement, the ability to lead, develop and shape the University Council to ensure effective governance, and an understanding of proper interaction between the Executive and Non-Executive are essential. Energetic and inspirational, the Chair will play a fundamental role helping the University to achieve its ambitious agenda in a challenging external environment.
