Alistair Mackintosh, Chair of Trustees of Treloar School and College has announced that following a rigorous selection process the Trustees have appointed Mr Martin Ingram to be the next Principal of Treloar School and College with effect from August 2016.
Mr Ingram is currently the Principal and Chief Executive of Woking College and we have been privileged to make his appointment from a very strong field of candidates.
Educated at the University of Bath where he read History and Philosophy with Social Sciences, Mr Ingram worked with Save the Children at a residential school for children with physical disabilities in Morocco. He then began his teaching career in 1988 at Esher College, starting as a teacher of History and Politics, before going on to become Head of Department and then Director of Faculty.
In 2001 Mr Ingram moved to Woking College as Vice-Principal and was promoted to Principal in January 2003. Over the subsequent period Mr Ingram has led the College through a period of considerable growth and today it is recognised as a successful, diverse sixth form college with a total of 1600 students, and an acknowledged track record of educational outcomes.
In addition to his responsibilities at Woking College, Mr Ingram is actively involved in the broader education community, and has extensive experience of working with key stakeholders and educational organisations, both locally and regionally. He also has prior knowledge of Treloar’s having been a Governor of the College from 2003 to 2008. Martin was Chair of the Organ Donation Committee at Great Ormond Street Hospital from 2010 to 2015.
