The Skoll Centre

Pamela Hartigan was appointed Director of the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Oxford's Said Business School.   Dr Hartigan previously held posts at the Pan American Health Organization and at the WHO before being appointed as the Founding Managing Director at the Schwab Foundation.

The Skoll Centre is in a unique position to convene researchers and practitioners - together, we can build a global research agenda that complements and reinforces a growing movement to create markets that are consistent with our values and aspirations.  What kind of a world do we want today and tomorrow?  I am at the Skoll Centre because I know what kind of world I want for my children and their children's children.

The Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship in the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford is a unique and influential centre that strives to be the world's leading academic institution for social entrepreneurship.  The Centre seeks to establish evidence-based credibility for social entrepreneurship such that it is recognized and supported to the extent that commercial and government activities are; to support access to knowledge and education for practitioners; and to spur effective dissemination of the field's best and most promising ideas.
