Penny Lawrence joined Oxfam as their International Director having previously worked for VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) as Director of International Programmes. She was also Vice-Chair of BOND, the leading network of UK-based INGOs.

Oxfam had always appealed to me as one of the largest, best known and most highly thought of development agencies in the world. It’s scary how much our views are sought and how much influence we can have! With that responsibility goes accountability. It demands such high levels of integrity in all that we do. I feel privileged to be a guardian of this integrity and part of a leadership team that makes tough calls on what opportunities we respond to and how we can really make a difference in tackling injustice and poverty.
